A Note from the Owner, Teanna-

Years ago when my husband had asked me what was my talent? I went into a bit of a “shock mode” so to speak! I remember thinking to myself “I don’t really have a talent, I can clean windows with no streaks, yeah I can say that to him.” What a moment of truth I had. It honestly really bothered me maybe more than what it should have.

I fought long and hard inside my mind for the next few years as a new stay at home mommie! At first it wasn’t easy, but slowly I grew to love the time spent at home with my babies while watching them grow right before my eyes and not missing a moment of it.

At the time I thought cleaning was something that had to be done to keep me busy and “make my mark” in this world. I grew to understand that cleaning wasn’t making me happy, it was making me upset actually. It was never finished, and it truly didn’t fill my soul. “What was I after in this world” I thought to myself? What was it? So I started praying for God to help me with whatever it was that I needed to see and feel. I had no clue honestly.

One day He revealed to me that I was good at decorating. It was something I always loved to do as a little girl. Always making my bed and rearranging my furniture. I remember my dad saying I had the best, most clean room in the house, but I never really thought of it as a real talent. I had many other jobs in the past and even took a few photography classes at a local college and wasn’t half bad at it actually. I had even come up with a business tactic for the class that the instructor continues to use in her classroom or at least I think she does. I always say “art is art no matter how you look at it.”

I started out painting walls and redoing each room in our first little ranch home. I would replace the light fixtures and do anything I could to make the room stand out. The very first large project, or at least it was large to me, that I did was replace our pantry door. I got it at the local Habitat for Humanity for FREE! I went in there near closing time and they didn’t want the hassle of ringing me up so they said take it now and it’s yours. Free tip for ya. Lol

I painted that door, gave her some dings and dents, added darker spots along the edges where aging typically occurs. I remember the moment when my husband hung that beautiful pantry door. I remember how thankful I was that I asked God to help me find my talent that day because this was a true feeling of gratitude, love, and passion that I never ever wanted to forget that filled my heart and soul!

My job of decorating and designing is a feeling that I still can’t quite explain. I guess it’s just for God and myself to know, but I will say I still get that same feeling when I do each project, whether it’s in my home or someone else’s. I’m so thankful to the Lord that he’s allowed me to do such beautiful work and keep me busy doing something amazing each day. It’s not only an amazing job but it just helps my soul!

So the next time you may think you don’t have a talent you may just want to go and wash those windows and talk to God! 🙌
